About the Ladies Golf Club of Toronto
Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto is North America’s only private golf club established by women for women. The Club was founded in 1924 by Ada Mackenzie, an accomplished amateur golfer, international competitor and successful business woman.
The Club has a 21 hole, newly-renovated course (2005, 2006), still true to the original Stanley Thompson design. It is challenging, well maintained and environmentally friendly and can be enjoyed by Members and their guests, regardless of their level of playing ability.
The Clubhouse is the original estate home and is now used for Member dining and activities and some external special events. It provides an elegant home-like setting for private entertaining.
Ladies’ has four main classes of membership – full, intermediate and junior plus social members (with limited play). Male guest card holders: It has a long tradition of including male “guest card holders” who purchase an annual pass and enjoy the Club house and use of the Club at specific daily tee times.
Ladies’ offers potential members a one year trial (Introductory) membership. Most new Members become Introductory Members before committing. Once women have experienced the Club either through Learning Programs, Introductory Membership or other trials, most of them join.
